R.R. ‘Randy’ Wiggins; Retired Engineer

R.R. “Randy” Wiggins died at his Ventura home Nov. 29. He was 81.

Wiggins was born March 12, 1917, in Scooba, Miss. He attended the University of Mississippi in the 1930s and earned a degree in physics and chemistry.

He was an electronics communications officer in Great Britain during World War II and participated in the invasion of Normandy. He retired from the Air Force as a lieutenant colonel in 1953.

Wiggins was an electronics engineer for the 12th Naval District in Vallejo until 1958 and then was a supervising general engineer at the Pacific Missile Test Center at Point Mugu. He retired from the test center in 1975.

Wiggins was an avid golfer who once served on the board of directors for the Saticoy County Club. He was club president in 1985.

Wiggins is survived by his wife of 51 years, Margaret, of Ventura; and a daughter, Lyna Wiggins, of New Brunswick, N.J.

No services are planned. A memorial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rehabilitation Foundation in Santa Barbara.
