After two years of planning, a coalition of county agencies expects to open three neighborhood resource centers next month so residents can receive one-stop, free health and educational services.

The centers--at San Marino Elementary in Buena Park and Danbrook Elementary and Centralia Elementary in Anaheim--won’t be open until January but will eventually offer a variety of services: dental exams, bookmobile visits, homework clubs, English classes for parents, parenting classes, kids’ clubs and health screenings. The Centralia Community Collaborative, representing 25 groups that created the centers, will hold its ribbon-cutting ceremony for the project at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the main neighborhood center at Danbrook Elementary, 320 Danbrook St., Anaheim.

“The neighborhood resource centers bring the many services that are offered throughout the community to one easily accessible location,” said Linda Matlock, Centralia School District’s administrator of special services.
