Fiset Is Injured Again

Share

Stephane Fiset suffered a third-round knockout Wednesday morning at the Forum, which means Manny Legace is back in town.

Fiset, who has twice had lengthy stays on the sidelines because of groin injuries, suffered another during practice and was declared out of tonight’s game against New York.

Legace was brought back from Long Beach to back up Jamie Storr, tonight’s goalie. Legace is the International Hockey League’s leading goalie with a 1.96 goals-against average.

He will be joined at the Forum by Ice Dog teammate Pavel Rosa, a winger who was also recalled after getting four goals and 13 points in 16 games for Long Beach.

The Kings have put Eric Lacroix on the injured list, retroactive to Dec. 12, because of a broken collarbone.

King medical personnel said Fiset is not expected to be out long. He has sat out 16 games because of injury and is 5-4, with a 1.93 goals-against average, sixth in the NHL.
