Special Election Set to Fill Soto’s Council Seat
POMONA —
A special election to fill the City Council seat vacated by state Assemblywoman Nell Soto will be held on April 13.
The Pomona council decided to hold a special election to fill Soto’s seat for the remainder of her term, which expires in November 2000, rather than appoint a replacement. The election is expected to cost about $12,000.
Soto in November won the race in the 61st Assembly District, which covers parts of Pomona and several San Bernardino cities.
