A series of small earthquakes shook several areas throughout California, but there were no immediate reports of injury or damage.

A magnitude-3.0 quake struck at 10:57 p.m. Thursday, 25 miles west-southwest of Olancha, about 60 miles northeast of Bakersfield, said seismologist Bob Dollar of the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was not believed to be an aftershock, Dollar said.

“We didn’t feel it, nor did we get any calls on it,” Bakersfield Police Department Lt. Joe Moesta said.

A magnitude-3.9 temblor hit at 10:49 p.m. 10 miles east of Markleeville. The city is 20 miles south of South Lake Tahoe.

A magnitude-4.0 quake struck at 9:19 p.m. Thursday, 25 miles north of Santa Rosa.

P.J. Cresci, a dispatcher with the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department, said one person called asking about the quake, but no one felt it in the Santa Rosa-based office.

A magnitude-3.4 earthquake occurred at 7:43 p.m. Thursday, two miles east of Somes Bar in Northern California, west of Mount Shasta.

A dispatcher at the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department who declined to give her name said she did not feel the quake and received no reports of injuries or damage.

Somes Bar is about 250 miles north of San Francisco.
