Arizona’s Dickerson Exceeds Own Modest Expectations
Michael Dickerson, who runs hot and cold as a shooter, was on fire Thursday night in Tucson, and he torched Washington with 18 of his 30 points in the first 5:40 of the second half of No. 4 Arizona’s 112-81 victory.
Dickerson finished with 25 points in the second half, making all 11 of his shots in the best half of play in school history.
He was 13 for 16 in the game.
“At halftime I had five [points],” Dickerson said. “I thought I could end up with 10.”
Mike Bibby had 22 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals for Arizona (20-3, 10-0 in the Pacific 10 Conference), which won its 13th game in a row.
Todd MacCulloch had 26 points and 15 rebounds for Washington (13-6, 6-4), giving him 1,007 points for his career.
Arizona State 82, Washington State 68--Jeremy Veal scored 20 points to lead five Sun Devils in double figures in a victory over Washington State (8-13, 1-9) at Tempe.
Urit Kelly, the top reserve for Arizona State (15-8, 5-5), learned only hours before the game that his father had died in his native Bahamas. Kelly scored seven points.
