* LONG BEACH STATE (8-13, 3-6) at UC SANTA BARBARA (7-12, 4-5), 7:30--The 49ers lost to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, 84-74, Thursday despite 25 points from freshman David Egans. Egans was six of 10 on three-point attempts and took pressure off of center Andrew Betts (20 points and nine rebounds a game). The Guachos have had a rough season to the point where the team threatened to walk out on Coach Jerry Pimm. Things have stabilized somewhat, but the team keeps losing--most recently taking a 76-60 pounding from Pacific. Forward Raymond Tutt (16.6 points a game) is the Guachos’ best player.
