Another ideal day for golf, another day of major runs at the final Hawaiian Open.

First round co-leader John Huston, who opened with nine-under-par 63, followed with a 65 Friday for a two-stroke lead. He reached the midway mark at 16-under 128, matching the 36-hole record set by Davis Love III in 1994.

Huston jumped ahead of Skip Kendall with birdies on the final two holes.

Kendall had a career-best 63 for a 130.

Tony Johnstone of Zimbabwe had a three-stroke lead after his second-round 64 left him 12-under par in the South African PGA Championship in Johannesburg.

Only about half the field completed the second round because of rain delays.

Brian Barnes of Scotland had an eight-under-par 63 for the best-ever first round of the Senior GTE Classic at Lutz, Fla.
