Share

San Marino-based American Pullman Traditions, which has run group-chartered train tours for three years, is offering luxury transcontinental trips to the general public for the first time. The trips use two rare 1920s Pullman cars--including one built for railroad heir Harry K. Vanderbilt--attached to Amtrak trains. Each one-week tour accommodates just 16 people. Trains depart Los Angeles on March 15 and May 10 for Washington, D.C., and depart New York on March 7 and May 2 for San Francisco. Prices begin at $5,995 per person, double occupancy, and include meals, tours, taxes and hotel stays en route. Reservations: (626) 350-3035.
