Clemson Continues Late Run

Continuing its late bid for an NCAA tournament appearance, Clemson held Florida State without a field goal for more than 14 minutes Sunday and only two in the first half, handing the Seminoles their worst home loss in history, 78-49, at Tallahassee, Fla.

Tony Christie scored a career-high 19 points and Greg Buckner added 16 for Clemson.

Clemson, 15-10 overall and 5-7 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, led, 42-17, at halftime on its way to its third straight victory by 25 points or more.

Florida State (16-10, 5-8) played without starters Terrell Baker and Randell Jackson.

Tulsa (16-9, 7-3) held Fresno State (14-9, 7-3) scoreless in the final 3:50 and defeated the Bulldogs, 77-76, in a Western Athletic Conference game at Tulsa, Okla. . . . Felipe Lopez made three three-point shots in a late 18-7 spurt to rally St. John’s (19-7, 11-4) to a 64-60 victory over Seton Hall (12-12, 6-8) in a Big East game at East Rutherford, N.J. . . . Sean Colson scored 24 points and DeMarco Johnson had 16 as North Carolina Charlotte (15-8, 11-2) withstood several rallies by Louisville (10-16, 4-8) to post a 73-68 Conference USA victory at Louisville, Ky.
