Share

Police are looking for a man who assaulted two young girls as they left an elementary school playground this week.

The girls, 9- and 5-year-old cousins, had just left Sun View Elementary School shortly after 6 p.m. on Tuesday when the assault occurred, police said.

As they walked along the flood channel near Silver Lane and Juliette Low Drive, a man grabbed the older girl around the waist, covered her mouth and forced her into a construction trench shoring apparatus, Huntington Beach Police Lt. Jon Arnold said.

The man forced the girls to stay there while he masturbated, police said. Moments later, the man ran away through the schoolyard and the victims ran home, Arnold said. No vehicle was seen.

The suspect is described as white, in his 30s, about 6 foot, 2 inches tell, with a thin build, brown hair and a goatee. He was wearing a dark blue jacket, white T-shirt, dark pants and red boxer shorts. He wore a silver ring on the middle finger of his left hand.

Anyone with information on the assault is asked to call the Police Department at (714) 375-5066.
