Oseguera Sets UCI Record

Senior forward Leticia Oseguera became the all-time career rebounding leader at UC Irvine and the Anteaters beat host Pacific, 52-48, Sunday in a Big West Conference women’s basketball game.

Oseguera had nine points and 17 rebounds to give her 935, which is tops for men and women at the school. She passed Dave Baker (1971-75), who had 926.

UC Irvine is 15-9, 10-3.

In another conference game:

Cal State Fullerton 96, Long Beach State 87--The visiting Titans (9-16, 6-8) scored a season-high in points. Center Natascha Stokely made 13 of 19 shots from the field and 10 of 12 free throws to finish with a game-high 36 points for Fullerton.

In the Bruin women’s gymnastic classic:

Lutz wins beam--Cal State Fullerton’s Christy Lutz took first in the balance beam but host UCLA, ranked fifth in the nation, won the meet over No. 7 Penn State, No. 11 Oregon State and the Titans.

Lutz scored 9.875 to tie teammate Courtney Bogart’s school record for highest score in the event.
