2.1 Earthquake Hits North County
SANTA ANA —
A minor earthquake centered three miles northwest of Santa Ana was detected Wednesday night, according to seismologists.
The 10:19 p.m. temblor registered 2.1 on the Richter scale and was a new quake, not an aftershock of previous seismic activity, according to Sue Hough of the Caltech Seismology Lab in Pasadena.
No reports of damage resulted from the quake, according to Santa Ana police.
