Giannulli Now Ineligible After Redesigned Wedding

Share

One of Orange County’s most eligible bachelors is no longer. Eligible, that is.

Fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli married actress Lori Loughlin in Newport Beach on Thanksgiving Day, and the ceremony varied greatly from the couple’s original plans.

The two were wed in a 5:30 a.m. sunrise service on a dirt lot in the ritzy Pelican Hill project, where Giannulli plans to build a home. (He bought all the lots on an entire street.) Only four people were in attendance: the groom, the bride, a minister and Giannulli’s best friend, Darrin Wilson.

“It was typical Moss,” a friend says. “He always has to be different.”

Loughlin and Giannulli, founder of Irvine apparel designer Mossimo Inc., initially planned to wed on July 4 at the Mauna Kea resort in Hawaii. The couple postponed the ceremony on July 1 because of personal business.

Loughlin is best known for her role as John Stamos’ character’s wife, Rebecca, on the ABC sitcom “Full House.” More recently, she starred in another ABC sitcom, “Hudson Street,” and in a series of made-for-TV movies including “Medusa’s Child,” “The Price of Heaven” and “One of Her Own.”

Giannulli is in New York this week and couldn’t be reached for comment.

For now, the couple will split time between Giannulli’s mansion in Laguna Beach; a 9,000-square-foot, $1.2-million home in Bel-Air that he bought a year ago, and a home Loughlin owns in Westwood.

The marriage is the second for both.
