Nevada 85, Long Beach State 73--Marvin Wilson--alias Mark Smith--went from posting bail to posting 17 points, and his instant offense and dogged rebounding sparked the Wolfpack (5-5, 1-0) to a victory over the 49ers (5-8, 0-1) in the Big West Conference opener for both teams before a crowd of 5,324 at Reno.

Wilson had turned himself in to Fallon, Nev., police Wednesday and made bail in time for practice after two warrants for his arrest were issued Tuesday for failure to appear to answer charges stemming from a speeding ticket in August. He had used the name Mark Smith in August.

Wilson scored eight points in a row in the first half, then came off the bench in the second to hit a follow shot with 12:46 to play that broke a 47-47 tie and triggered a 9-0 run.
