Two more top Orange County football players have decided where they will attend college in the fall.

Irvine running back/defensive back Al Williams has made an oral commitment to Arizona State, Irvine Coach Terry Henigan announced Wednesday. And Servite running back Vince Reed has selected Colorado, Coach Larry Toner said.

Williams, 6 feet 2, 195 pounds, rushed for 510 yards in four games for Irvine this season. He injured his knee in practice after the first game and sat out six games before returning.

Los Alamitos Race Course has put up $10,000 and invited several of the top harness drivers from the Midwest to compete Saturday and Sunday against counterparts from the West Coast in the first All-Star Drivers Challenge. First post each day is 6:20 p.m.

Dave Magee, Dave Maxwell, Andy Miller and Tony Morgan will race against Los Alamitos regulars Bruce Clarke, Rick Kuebler, Tim Maier and Lou Pena in a series of races. Mounts will chosen by blind draws and drivers earn points toward the overall team title.

Morgan is traditionally the nation’s leading driver in victories. Clark was the leading driver at Sacramento’s Cal-Expo last fall and the leading driver at Los Alamitos in 1996-97.

Los Alamitos also will stage a special racing card Monday.
