Readers Would Pick Simers to the All-Maddening Team

I’m confused, because I’m sure I’m not living in Green Bay, and yet, T.J. Simers writes like he is.

Is he being paid by the L.A. Times or the Green Bay paper? Why does he have a colossal chip on his shoulder about the 49ers? Was he refused access to a streetcar? Did he have relatives on Alcatraz? Does he resent a city that has cheese on a plate instead of their heads? Does this paper respect or recognize objectivity? Will T.J. Simers go to Green Bay if I buy him a ticket? Will he stay?

I can no longer stand T.J.’s comments. He is not funny, nor is he clever. He is just downright mean. Everyone is entitled to his opinion, but T.J. doesn’t like anything or anyone. I am a football fan and I enjoy information about the sport. But it gets very old to continually read T.J.’s put-down comments about everything.

The way T.J. thinks, he’s still probably upset that the Pirates beat the Yankees in the 1960 World Series. I can hear him now: “Yeah, they won, but the better team lost.”

The 49ers provided Simers with an angle and a gimmick all season long. What once was amusing became tiresome. Objectivity is a concept that should be introduced to the tomato-can-loving Simers.

Every week you print at least one letter from readers who complain about T.J. Simers. Fans of the Raiders and Chargers seem the most upset. They both finished 4-12, so a little criticism does not seem unwarranted.

Mr. Simers has been occasionally critical of my favorite team too, but he’s usually right on, as he is more often than not. Keep telling it like it is, T.J.
