The mind-bending theatrical European circus spectacular “Cirque Ingenieux,” featuring internationally acclaimed strongmen, contortionists, jugglers, aerialists and illusionists who perform as part of a little girl’s fantasy adventure, comes to the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts. The Universal Amphitheater will show off its new motion picture presentation system, which includes what is believed to be the world’s largest normal format screen and a 60-speaker surround sound system, with a series of six vintage Universal films. Tonight’s double feature is the coming-of-age duo of “American Graffiti” and “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.” The series continues with “Psycho,” “Jaws,” “National Lampoon’s Animal House” and “The Blues Brothers.” All will be presented on new 35mm prints and accompanied by original trailers, vintage Woody Woodpecker cartoons and special guests, including actor Tim Curry, director Amy Heckerling and Alfred Hitchcock’s daughter Patricia.

In Steve Martin’s acclaimed comedy “Picasso at the Lapin Agile,” set in 1904 in a bohemian Paris bistro, a young Pablo Picasso engages in a battle of ideas about painting, probability, lust and the future with an equally young Albert Einstein. Performances, which began Wednesday, are at the Wilshire Theatre.
