Statement of Unity Is Really Quite Brave
There’s something missing about the fashion statement made by the Birmingham High boys’ basketball team.
To show team unity, the Braves agreed to wear blue and white horizontal-striped socks during games this season.
Apparently somebody forgot theirs in Wednesday’s Northwest Valley Conference game against Cleveland. So Birmingham players each wore one sock high on the calf.
“We wanted to stay together, just a little thing we do,” forward Emmanuel Evans said. “We like it.”
