A FEW IDIOTS RUIN THE FUN
Bronco fans poured into the streets of Denver and set a bonfire downtown, to celebrate their team’s Super Bowl win.
At one point, police officers in riot gear threw tear gas as people threw bottles at police horses. One mounted police officer chased a reveler in the area and the officer and the horse fell to the sidewalk. Police said several people were arrested for fighting or creating a disturbance.
49ERS MIGHT GO UP FOR SALE
Denise DeBartolo York, who shares ownership of the San Francisco 49ers with her brother, may try to sell the team if Eddie DeBartolo is convicted of corruption, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
DeBartolo faces indictment by a Louisiana grand jury over a casino gambling license he received.
If York tries to force a sale of the team, she would not do so before plans for a new 49er stadium were finalized, the Chronicle reported, quoting an unnamed source. She would also try selling the team to local investors, the paper said.
