What: Wimbledon Web site

The time difference between the United States and England makes it difficult to keep up with the Wimbledon tennis tournament as it unfolds. Once again, however, the Internet has come to the rescue of fans, providing coverage that TV doesn’t.

Live coverage.

With current match updates every two minutes, https://www.wimbledon.org is the tennis fan’s best friend.

The site also has schedules, previous scores, current statistics and seedings.

Then there’s the good stuff.

Besides bios of every player, there are previews, match recaps, features and news.

And two things make this an exceptional site.

The first, titled “About,” has information on the tournament’s history, travel, tickets, the All England Club and its Wimbledon museum. There’s even space for suggestions and complaints.

The other section, called “Live,” has the more active Internet surfer in mind.

There is Wimbledon trivia. There are games such as virtual tennis and a fantasy tournament. There are panoramic views of the stadium.

There is a shop peddling equipment, souvenirs, sportswear and other apparel. In fact, there isn’t much this site doesn’t have.
