FBI Asks Public’s Help in Nabbing Bank Thief

Share

The FBI is seeking the public’s help in identifying a serial bank robber who has been at large for more than a year.

A man dubbed “Black Book” because he carries a black checkbook with him, is being sought in connection with robberies at 10 banks across Orange County since November 1996, Special Agent Tim White said Thursday.

The culprit was last seen June 23, when he entered a Bank of America branch in Irvine and handed a teller a note that he pulled from the checkbook, White said. The note stated: “I have a gun. Give me all of your 100’s, 50’s and 20’s.” The man then whispered to the teller, “I’m not joking,” White said.

The robber is in his late 20s to early 30s, about 6 feet tall and weighs 180 pounds.

FBI agents ask that anybody with information about the suspect call them at (714) 542-8825.
