Chicago Increases Win Streak to 11

Chicago defender Lubos Kubik scored in the 37th minute at Dallas to help give the Fire its 11th consecutive Major League Soccer victory, a 1-0 decision over the Burn on Saturday night before 12,372.

Kubik chipped the winner inside the far post from 19 yards out. It was his third career goal for Chicago (13-5) and all have come against Dallas (9-9) the last three weeks.

Chicago goalie Zach Thornton registered his league-leading sixth shutout by making five saves.

Chad Deering, a recently signed midfielder who played for the U.S. World Cup team, made his debut for Dallas as a substitute in the 59th minute.

New England 3, Tampa Bay 2--Raul Diaz Arce scored twice at Tampa, Fla., as the Revolution ended a losing streak at nine games. The attendance was not announced.

Diaz Arce’s 13th goal, coming in the 84th minute, was the last of three goals in the final 15 minutes.

New England (5-12) won for the first time since defeating Tampa Bay (4-14) on May 10.

Colorado 1, New York-New Jersey 0--Marquis White scored in the 73rd minute for the Rapids at Denver before 46,722.

White’s game-winner came from six yards out after defender Alexi Lalas of the MetroStars (9-8) failed to control a cross by Rapids midfielder Christ Henderson.

Colorado defender Marcelo Balboa preserved the win for the Rapids (8-9) by clearing a shot by Miles Joseph off the goal line in the 90th minute.
