From Times Wire Reports

A reputed mobster on trial for chauffeuring a Genovese crime boss to his death was found dead at his home, apparently a victim of suicide. Ocean County Prosecutor E. David Millard said the body of George Weingartner, 67, was discovered inside a car in a garage. An autopsy indicated Weingartner died from asphyxiation due to carbon monoxide. Weingartner was one of four reputed mobsters on trial in Toms River for murder, extortion, arson, assault and other crimes. According to Louis Auricchio, the confessed triggerman in the 1988 killing of Genovese crime boss John DiGilio, Weingartner was driving the car in which passenger DiGilio was slain.
