Reuters

A window washer fell to his death Monday when a scaffolding collapsed at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, police said. The worker got tangled in the scaffolding’s ropes when it gave way, falling six stories.

The accident happened as workers were getting ready to wash the huge windows in the front of Avery Fisher Hall, one of several performance areas in the Lincoln Center complex in Manhattan.
