Chapman Ave. Ramp to Close for Upgrades
The southbound Santa Ana Freeway offramp to eastbound Chapman Avenue in Orange will close today for reconstruction.
The closure will allow crews to rebuild and realign the Chapman Avenue undercrossing. When complete, the undercrossing will improve freeway access and the flow of traffic, officials said. New onramps and offramps for Chapman and State College Boulevard will be completed in 2000.
Motorists who use the Chapman offramp are advised to exit at the State College Boulevard/The City Drive offramp, turn right at the light and go to Chapman.
The ramp upgrades are part of a $1.1-billion freeway improvement project that began in December 1996. Completion is targeted for 2000.
