Praise for T.J.? Reader Must Have Concussion
Normally, as a lifelong 49ers fan (yes, before Joe Montana arrived), I am used to egregiously poor and L.A.-centric reporting from T.J. Simers. However, his piece concerning Steve Young [July 22] hit it, well, right on the head. If anything, Young’s concussions have made him even more delusional about his capabilities and more stubborn about trying to prove himself.

In his column last week, T.J. Simers referred to Kansas City as being “in the sticks.”
Since he has obviously never been there, he might be surprised to know that K.C. has clean air, great restaurants and shopping, ballet, opera, a symphony orchestra and beautiful suburbs. Builders have trouble keeping up with the demand for new housing. Many of the Chiefs and Royals choose to live in the area after they retire. I go back every year and love it. Simers should do the same.
He did get one thing right. The Chiefs are loaded and will be in the Super Bowl in ’99.
