There’s Always Room in the Suggestion Box
Three solid suggestions for improving The Times’ sports section:
A) Publish letters from readers at least twice a week (daily would be even better). At present The Times is a non-interactive old fogy, all but ignoring a rich source of trenchant commentary: us.
B) A full page every day on soccer. But real soccer, with relatively little on M(inor) LS, and absolutely nothing on soccer moms. And you know where real soccer is played. We soccer fans won’t care a bit if you assign us Page 7. (One caveat: Grahame L. Jones must not be allowed to mention Argentina).
C) Vastly increased coverage of Notre Dame football.
Reforms A and B are essential to meaningful improvement. Reform C is optional.
