Part of Spring Road to Be Closed Until Fall
Moorpark city officials plan to close the segment of Spring Road between Tierra Rejada and Peach Hill roads beginning Thursday.
The road probably will be shut until late September while crews make street improvements that include new sidewalks, a center median, bike lanes, curbs and gutters, said Kirk J. Evans, the city’s senior management analyst.
Drivers can detour on newly built Science Drive between Tierra Rejada and Peach Hill roads. The city plans to open that road to the public Thursday.
Once the first part of Spring Road is completed, city officials said they will close off the segment of Spring Road between New Los Angeles Avenue and Peach Hill to make the same improvements. They estimate the work for this portion will take place between late September and mid-November.
The section of Science Drive between Peach Hill and New Los Angeles Avenue should be completed by the time work begins on the second phase of Spring Road so that it can be used as a detour, Evans said.
