* Has established himself as one the region’s best players after barely playing as a sophomore. Has already beaten Van Nuys and Kennedy in playoffs en route to 12-1 record and 1.65 earned-run average. Batting .455 in cleanup spot.

Loren Devries / Catcher

5-7, Jr.

* Worked his way through frosh-soph and junior varsity teams to earn starting spot. Hit home run in Westside tournament championship game against Sylmar but was replaced by designated hitter in City 4-A semifinal.

Scott Sellz / First base

* Normally the No. 3 pitcher, Sellz was pressed into service after second baseman Kevin O’Hara suffered a broken finger last week. Has only 11 at-bats but was the designated hitter in quarterfinal-round victory over Monroe.

Danny Eisenberg / Second base

* Moved from third base after O’Hara’s season-ending finger injury. Second hitter in the lineup is batting .393 with 14 doubles and three triples. Has walked 24 times. Scored 1,400 on SAT and will attend California in the fall.

Matt Cassel / Third base

* Versatile sophomore has played first base, third base and DH. Ranks second on team with seven home runs, third with 42 RBIs and is batting .583 with runners in scoring position. Was quarterback on football team.

Matt Fisher / Shortstop

* Varsity starter since his freshman year, Fisher is Chancellors’ hottest hitter in the playoffs with six hits, including two triples, in three games. Leads team with .463 (44 of 95) batting average and ranks second with 45 RBIs.

Bryan Gant / Left field

5-8, Sr.

* Fastest player on team, Gant has 27 stolen bases and is batting .425 with 17 doubles and three triples in leadoff spot. Transferred from L.A. Baptist before last season. Has committed to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Tom Morefield / Center field

6-2, Sr.

* Converted pitcher leads Chancellors with 11 home runs, 46 RBIs, 25 walks and .945 slugging percentage. Made smooth transition to outfield after starting at first base last year. Has signed letter of intent with Cal State Northridge.

Chad Redfern / Right field

6-2, Jr.

* Shared position with Kenny Levinson at beginning of season before becoming full-time starter. Hit home run in 5-2 victory over Kennedy in semifinals. Son of former major league pitcher Pete Redfern, a former Chatsworth assistant.

Eric Paschal / Designated hitter

5-11, Sr.

* Became starter when lineup was shuffled after O’Hara’s season-ending injury. Batting .412 but has only 17 at-bats and has appeared in 13 games, mostly as backup catcher. Had run-scoring single in semifinal victory over Kennedy.
