COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 51-year-old man suspected of fleeing a security checkpoint and causing authorities to close part of an airport was being held in jail Friday and faces charges of inducing a panic.
Douglas Miller of Houston faces a hearing July 2 on the felony charge, a spokesman for the Franklin County prosecuting attorney said.
Authorities delayed a dozen flights Thursday, ordered passengers off planes and closed one of three airport concourses for 90 minutes after Miller fled the checkpoint at Port Columbus International Airport, the spokesman said.
Miller was arrested when he was found on a Chicago-bound flight.
