Man Stabbed Twice After Brawl in Bar
A 26-year-old man was stabbed twice in the abdomen after fighting with another man in a sports bar at the Radisson Hotel in Simi Valley, police said.
Michael Ward was in serious but stable condition Saturday night after undergoing surgery at Simi Valley Hospital for a punctured kidney, police said.
Ward, a Simi Valley resident, was stabbed in the parking lot about 11:30 p.m. Friday after an earlier brawl with Jason W. Palewicz inside the hotel’s Arena Sports Bar at 999 Enchanted Way, police said.
Hotel security broke up the fight and escorted the men outside, police said. Palewicz left in a car with his girlfriend but returned moments later with a knife, police said.
Witnesses gave police a description and the license plate number of the car and officers later arrested Palewicz him at his girlfriend’s house on Moffatt Circle in Simi Valley.
Palewicz, 24, also of Simi Valley, was booked into Ventura County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, police said. Jail deputies said bail had been posted Saturday night and that Palewicz would soon be released.
