Man’s Condition Now Very Critical

A man who suffered severe head injuries when a car he was repairing fell on top of him was in very critical condition Sunday, said an official at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills.

Jose Argueta was working on his car’s engine in the parking lot behind his Tujunga apartment in the 7000 block of Foothill Boulevard when the vehicle fell on him Saturday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Argueta, in his early 40s, who was incorrectly identified in early reports as Francisco Argeta, was flown to the medical center with a skull fracture and other internal injuries.
