Trade for Scorer Remains an Option

Share

With the NHL trading deadline less than three weeks away, King General Manager Dave Taylor said there hasn’t been much talk around the league because of the recent Olympics.

“With the break, a lot of teams that had injuries are hoping to get some guys back and they’re waiting to see how their teams are playing coming out of the break,” Taylor said. “There usually is some jockeying for position and if there’s an opportunity to make a move, they will try to bolster their team before the March 25 deadline.”

Taylor said the Kings are one of the teams that might fit this category.

“If we can add another scorer to our lineup, certainly we would like to do that,” he said. “But we like our team right now. We like the way we’re meshing together and our chemistry, so that has to be looked at as well.”

Goaltender Stephane Fiset is questionable for tonight’s game against Carolina at the Great Western Forum because of a groin/hamstring injury. Jamie Storr is expected to start with Frederic Chabot as his backup.

The Kings, however, expect to have center Ray Ferraro and winger Russ Courtnall back in the lineup after they sat out Monday’s game against Vancouver. Ferraro sat out because of flu and Courtnall has been out the last two games because of a hip injury.
