Xavier’s Williams in Trouble

Share

Xavier wingman Darnell Williams is to appear in court next week to face drunken driving charges, the Cincinnati Post reported Friday.

Williams was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Monday near downtown Cincinnati, the newspaper reported.

“I can’t talk about it,” Williams told the Post.

Xavier officials would say only that Williams broke team rules.

He is scheduled to appear in Hamilton County Municipal Court on Monday.

Williams, a junior, is Xavier’s leading scorer at 17.4 points per game. He was suspended for Xavier’s 68-44 victory over St. Bonaventure on Thursday in the Atlantic 10 tournament, then scored 21 points in Friday’s semifinal victory over Rhode Island.
