Cubs’ Johnson on Disabled List
The Chicago Cubs put outfielder Lance Johnson on the 15-day disabled list because of a right hand inflammation, and recalled outfielder Matt Mieske from triple-A Iowa of the Pacific Coast League.
Johnson, 34, is hitting .115 with no home runs and no runs batted in this season. He was put on the disabled list retroactive to Tuesday.

The Cincinnati Reds recalled relief pitcher Todd Williams from triple-A Indianapolis.
The right-hander was leading the International League in saves with six, and had a 0.00 earned-run average.
