Adam Siegel
YEAR: Senior
SCHOOL: Harvard-Westlake
SPORT: Baseball
SEASON AT A GLANCE: Playing an instrumental role in Harvard-Westlake’s dramatic turnaround this season, Siegel is the teams’s ace pitcher with a 4-2 record and a 1.76 earned-run average. He fixed an early season slump by shortening his swing and raised his average from .222 to .319 in the past four games. He leads the team in home runs (four) and is tied for the team lead in runs batted in (20).
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Siegel used his bat and his arm to lead the Wolverines to two victories over defending Mission League champion Chaminade. He hit a game-winning grand slam in the top of the sixth inning to break a 4-4 tie in the Wolverines’ 8-4 victory Tuesday, then struck out the side in relief in the bottom of the sixth. On Friday, he pitched a four-hitter, striking out 10, and hit a home run to open the scoring in a 2-0 victory.
