Arson Charges Filed Against Man Upset Over Having to Leave House
A La Puente man was arrested Thursday on charges of setting fire to his family’s home because he was angry that his father sold the house and he would have to move out, authorities said.
Victor Bernal, 43, was booked shortly after the 1 a.m. fire in the 900 block on North Big Dalton Avenue.
No injuries were reported. The blaze caused about $5,000 in damage, Sheriff’s Deputy Joan Raber said.
Bernal is being held on $75,000 bail.
