Bad Shoulder Sidelines Garciaparra

Boston Red Sox shortstop Nomar Garciaparra sat out Saturday night’s game against Kansas City because of a strained right shoulder.
Garciaparra, the 1997 AL rookie of the year, injured himself in the seventh inning Friday diving for a single up the middle by the Royals’ Shane Halter in the seventh inning.
