In the Freeway League boys’ finals:
Villaroman wins title--Troy senior Francisco Villaroman won the league title after Sunny Hills’ Joseph Kao retired in the second set because of groin pull. Both advance to the section championships.
In doubles, the top-seeded team from Sunny Hills, Tuji Chang and John Choi, defaulted because of they were taking tests, giving way for Sonora’s fourth-seeded Rey Lejano and John Price to win the title. Lejano and Price defeated the Lancers’ third-seeded team of Richard Kim and Jimmy Chu, 7-5, 6-3, in the championship.
In the South Coast League boys’ championships:
Kent wins--Dana Hills’ Brian Kent won the singles title when Javier Carrillo was forced to retire because of illness, trailing 2-1.
The doubles title was won by Mission Viejo’s Eric Bachelor and Leandro D’Agostini, who defeated Dana Hills’ Ryan Lippert and Jason Wilson-Hayden, 6-2, 6-4.
In the Century League boys’ championships:
Nguyen sweeps--John Nguyen of Canyon won all three of his sets in the round-robin tournament to win the league singles championship. Nick Mucha and Jeff Barry of Canyon won two of three sets to win the doubles title.
