Hot Rods to Auto Art to Highlight Car Show

Vintage Hot Rods and Midgets, Henry Ford’s 1934 Track T’s race car and a variety of other automobiles will highlight the Muckenthaler Cultural Center’s fourth annual Motor Car Show on Sunday.

The outdoor event, sponsored by the center’s foundation and the Women’s Transitional Living Center, will begin at 10 a.m.

Don Ricardo, the famous band leader of the 1940s, will showcase four of his Mercedes Benzes. Also, the Blues Racket Band and guitarist Will Brady will perform. Paintings, lithographs and sculptures of renowned automotive artists will be on display in the museum.

Tickets are $10 per person; children 12 and younger will be admitted free. Proceeds will benefit the sponsors.

The foundation promotes an understanding of the arts by producing children’s educational programs, offering exhibits that appeal to various age groups and cultures and putting on live dance, drama and musical shows. The Living Center provides a number of services, including shelter for battered women and their children.
