The winners of the 1997-98 Citizen and Youth of the Year awards for the Chatsworth Community Coordinating Council were honored at a banquet Friday for their many hours of service to local nonprofit organizations and schools.

Becky Dodd was named Citizen of the Year for her work with local schools, and Robin Chand was named Youth of the Year, an honor also bestowed on his brother in 1994.

Dodd was nominated by Chatsworth Park Elementary School for her work at that campus as well as at Lawrence Middle School. She spearheaded a campaign to raise money to install air conditioning at the elementary school and has worked to acquire instruments and other necessities for the middle school band.
