Vehicle Carjacked With 2 Children Inside
A carjacker forced a woman from a truck in a drug store parking lot Monday and drove off with two eight-year-old boys inside, Los Angeles police said.
The man drove only a few blocks before releasing the two children, one of whom has Down syndrome, said LAPD Det. John Edwards. The children--the woman’s grandson and nephew--were soon returned to her, he said.
The abduction occurred in a parking lot near a Rite Aid drug store at 15300 Sherman Way. The man, described as a Latino between 28 and 30 years old with multiple tattoos on both arms, pushed the woman to the ground as she was entering the truck, Edwards said.
Police were still looking for the man and the truck, a brown 1985 Chevrolet, Edwards said.
