Woman Killed After Losing Control of Car
A 34-year-old woman died after the car she was driving plunged 300 feet down an embankment off the Ronald Reagan Freeway in Chatsworth early Saturday, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
Zelmira Vasquez of Chatsworth was driving west on the freeway just west of Topanga Canyon Boulevard when she lost control of her car about 2:45 a.m., CHP Officer Bob Granieri said.
The car landed upside-down, he said. Vasquez, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene about 40 minutes after the accident, Granieri said.
