Hair Salon Robbed of Cash by Armed Man

A man armed with a handgun robbed a hair salon and fled on foot Tuesday afternoon, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
The robber walked into Supercuts at 562 N. Las Posas Road about 2:30 p.m. and lifted his shirt to reveal a gun in his waistband, authorities said. He took an undisclosed amount of cash from a register, Sheriff’s Capt. Keith Parks said.
It was originally reported that customers had been robbed, but that claim proved untrue, Parks said.
For more than an hour after the robbery, half a dozen patrol units and a helicopter unsuccessfully searched streets surrounding Las Posas Plaza, which spans the 500 and 600 blocks of North Las Posas Road and houses dozens of businesses.
“Chances are he got into a vehicle and fled the scene,” Parks said. “You gotta realize it’s right on the freeway on-ramp, which sometimes provides an escape route.”
