Wynonna, Dion Help ‘Angel’ Celebrate Its 100th Episode

Television highlights this weekend include “Touched by an Angel” celebrating its 100th episode, “Candid Camera” visiting Chicago and PBS’ “Nature” traveling to India.

Wynonna and Celine Dion guest on “Touched by an Angel” Sunday at 8 p.m. on CBS. The story deals with a woman who is struggling with the impending loss of her son to cystic fibrosis.

PBS’ “Nature” offers “India: Land of the Tiger” Sunday at 8 p.m. on KCET-TV, a six-hour series examining India’s walking fish, swimming elephants, the sharp-toothed crocodile and the endangered tiger. The series continues Monday and Tuesday.

PBS’ “Mystery!,” tonight at 9 on KCET-TV, premieres a two-part thriller, “The Life and Crimes of William Palmer.” Keith Allen stars as a Victorian-era surgeon who uses poison to settle scores.

Host John Henson travels to Australia to visit the Sydney Opera House, the Australia Wildlife Park and other locations on “Talk Soup Down Under,” Friday at 6 p.m. on E! Entertainment Television.

Peter Funt and Suzanne Somers go on the road to Chicago on “Candid Camera,” Friday at 8:30 p.m. on CBS.

“The Short List,” Friday at 11:30 p.m. on KLCS-TV, is a new weekly showcase for international short films. The series also airs Sundays at 10:30 p.m. on KOCE-TV.

The Brian Setzer Orchestra swings, swings, swings on PBS’ “Sessions at West 54th,” Sunday at 12:30 a.m. on KCET-TV.

Jack Lemmon discusses his craft on Bravo’s “Inside the Actors Studio,” Sunday at 5 and 9 p.m.

The gay and lesbian newsmagazine series “In the Life” kicks off its seventh season Sunday at 11 p.m. on KCET-TV with a profile of an all-female Shakespeare troupe based in L.A.

Bravo’s “In My Life,” tonight at 6 and 10, features veteran producer George Martin presenting fresh interpretations of Beatles’ classics, including Goldie Hawn singing “A Hard Day’s Night” and Jim Carrey performing “I Am the Walrus.”

In honor of Friday the 13th, the History Channel presents “Salem Witch Trials” at 5 and 9 p.m., “Legends of the Werewolves” at 6 p.m., “The Real Dracula” at 7 p.m. and “The Abominable Snowman” at 8 p.m.

Jenny McCarthy hosts the fifth annual “The MTV Music Europe Awards” Friday at 8 p.m. Telecast from Milan, the star-studded special features honors in such categories as best group, song and album.

Billy Crystal hosts the documentary installment of “The Warner Bros. Story: No Guts, No Glory--75 Years of Laughter” Saturday at 7 p.m. on TNT.

Dennis Quaid narrates the historical documentary “Panama Canal: The Eighth Wonder of the World” Sunday at 8 p.m. on the Discovery Channel.

ABC’s “The Wonderful World of Disney” presents the network premiere of the 1959 animated classic “Sleeping Beauty” Sunday at 7 p.m.

Roma Downey and Moira Kelly star in the drama “Morning After the Miracle” Sunday at 9 p.m. on CBS. The film follows the lives of a grown Helen Keller and her teacher, Annie Sullivan, and how their bond was nearly broken when Sullivan married a handsome young professor (Bill Campbell).
