Duquesne gave men’s basketball coach Darelle Porter a contract extension through 2001--even before he coached his first game.
Porter and the school agreed in principle Thursday to a three-year extension and will work out specifics, including salary, over the next few months.
Porter, who at 29 is the second-youngest men’s coach in Division I, was initially given a one-year contract after being hired to succeed Scott Edgar in April.
