Buena 27, Oxnard 25--Buena (6-4) hung on when a 43-yard field-goal try by Oxnard failed as time expired at Oxnard.
Trailing, 27-19, Oxnard (2-8) scored on a 50-yard pass play from Louis Williams to Jacob Galloway with 20 seconds to play.
Williams’ pass on a two-point conversion fell incomplete, leaving Buena ahead, 27-25.
Oxnard recovered an onside kick and Williams scrambled 27 yards to the Buena 21-yard line with 10 seconds to play. Three plays later, the kick missed.
D.J. Blackledge scored on twice on three-yard runs in last five minutes for Buena after Oxnard went ahead, 19-14, on Williams’ 22-yard pass play to Mitchell Morimune.
Williams completed 26 of 46 passes for 268 yards and four touchdowns, and also rushed for 61 yards.
Robert Kinkle rushed for 142 yards in 19 carries for Oxnard. Aaron Neal had nine receptions for 94 yards and one touchdown.
