Volunteers and city employees will plant 571 trees this winter as part of a $22,000 Urban Forest Enhancement grant. The grant, by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, will be used to plant trees along some of the city’s major streets. Planting is set to begin in December. The projects will continue through April 1999.
