Selanne Might Be Back Wednesday
It’s neither novel nor particularly soothing, but Teemu Selanne has adopted a mantra while recovering from a strained right thigh that sidelined him for the third consecutive game Monday.
“One day at a time,” he said.
Asked when he hoped to be back in the lineup, he said, “It’s hard to tell.” But General Manager Pierre Gauthier indicated Selanne could be back as soon as Wednesday’s game against the New York Rangers.
“I’m not going to rush back at this point in the season,” said Selanne, who had seven goals and 15 points before being injured in a 5-4 overtime victory Wednesday against the Carolina Hurricanes. “I want this thing done. I don’t want to have any other injuries because of this.”
